Our Mission

Our Mission… engaging artists and the community to inspire, educate, and nurture the arts
If you love the Arts, LCA needs your donations to carry out its mission of supporting and developing artists and arts culture in the Lakes Region. Please donate today!

Happy New Year from the Lakes Center for the Arts!

The board has been working diligently on the calendar of events for 2025.

2024 was a very successful year for the LCA that included:
  Increased Membership
  April Arts Summit
  June Arts Live
  Rotating Display Cases
  Castle in the Clouds Christmas

Expanded Community Partnerships to include Meredith Public Library, Interlakes School District, Belknap Economic Development Council, Greater Meredith Program/Meredith Sculpture Walk, Meredith Historical Society, and Museum of the White Mountains.

LCA applied for a grant in October 2024 with the hopes of funding another Art Summit in 2025. While disappointed that LCA was not selected as a recipient this time, we are working to identify other sources of funding.

LCA is in negotiation with The Castle in the Clouds to become a partner for the Community Arts Festival to be held on the grounds in late June 2025. More details to follow with the benefits for our artist members.

Thursday, September 18th LCA, in partnership with the NH Boat Museum, Moultonborough, will hold a fundraiser to benefit upcoming programs. Volunteers to assist in the planning, design and details of the fundraiser will require the talents of our members. As planning continues, please consider becoming part of the TEAM. There are opportunities for all members to participate.

The New Hampshire Boat Museum is seeking 2 landscape artists to be featured in their gallery during July and September (dates subject to change). If you are interested, please contact: Carol Gerken (cfgerken@hotmail.com).

Sunday November 23, “Kids Create” will be held at the Meredith Community Center, Meredith. This event will be a hands-on opportunity for kids and their families to experiment in a variety of art forms. Members will be needed to help plan, staff and offer experiences in their medium.

Other opportunities for members include participating in the Meet the Artists Presentations and Rotating Display Cases on view at local libraries.

As a member of the LCA we are asking for your help to plan or participate in one of these events. Be part of the LCA success story!

Become an Artist Member

The LCA gives you a number of benefits that you can see on the membership page. In addition to those benefits, part of our mission is to help you and your art business grow so that the Lakes Region develops a healthy and sustainable arts culture. It is a proven fact that a vibrant arts culture is a draw for tourism, business and employment. When you do well as an artist, the Lakes Region benefits. The LCA promises to do its best to help your art business grow.

Congrats to Larry Frates!

LCA has been one of the most welcoming and supporting art organizations I have ever experienced in my career of more than 50 years.

I’ve been with other art associations, but none of them have done as much for me as an artist as has the LCA.
