Artist Statement

I create to experience joy and share that joy with others. My heirloom quality wool felted hats warm heads & hearts alike. Having been that child with the ever present box of well used crayons you will find that my primary method of sharing that joy is with the use of happy colors. While functional and durable, they allow you to feel uplifted while expressing your individual sense of style.

Biography:

Joanie grew up in Charlestown, NH where her Mom & Dad always encouraged her creativity. Her Dad dabbled in watercolors and her Mom followed a journey of various artistic pursuits from theorem painting to reverse painting on glass. Joanie says of her Mom “She was an avid hat wearer, as I too have been since long before I started making them.” Naming her business ‘Anna’s Daughter Design’ is her way of honoring and remembering her Mom. Joanie works from her home in Newport, NH and is found at events that are shown on her Anna’s Daughter Design page on Facebook. She is also a member of The Contoocook Artisans Cooperative.
